Thank you for inquiring about our puppies
MVS has been breeding since 1999. My kennel is a dedicated full time way of life with a mission to provide the highest quality pets. This is a profession, not a hobby. We strive to treat our buyers and their pets with the highest level of care. Mountain Valley is a place providing trustworthiness and honest communication. It is important for us to maintain lasting relationships with our clients. I have developed many true friendships through the years.
We are committed to breeding happy healthy pups. Our puppies come from quality hunting lines. These beautiful puppies have parents, and any that MVS recommends, are health screened for sound genetic quality. A great example of the breed.
Updated May 2026: Mountain Valley Spinone (MVS) is excited to share that we have puppies that were born on May 3rd 2026 ready for their new homes the first week of July. The pups are AKC registered, come vaccinated, micro chipped, de-wormed. They leave with kibble to get them started, blanket, toy, puppy book explaining the breed, what to watch out for with medications, sensitivities to anesthesia, puppy's shot record, quick facts about the Spinone breed, a schedule for vaccinating and the risk of over vaccinating, what to look for and what to avoid when buying your dog food, Spinone are prone to bloat and torsion, information on the health risk of early spay and neuter and more.
MVS averages one sometimes two litters per year and we quite often whelp litters for other trusted breeders, at times we have re-homes. If we do not have a pup available for you, we are in contact with other reputable Spinone breeders who are whelping litters.
I will be there down the road for any help and advice or to take back a pup/dog anytime with no questions asked.
If you decide to move forward you can send in a contract with a deposit. If you're looking for a puppy in the future, we're more than happy to put you on a list. I am happy to work with you on your timing. I have worked with many clients who have scheduling conflicts or who chosen to have MVS keep their pup here avoiding the beginning puppy terror stage and provide some basic training.
Find A breeder who will be there for you through the long term. RED FLAG-Watch out for Breeders who only show "genetically tested" rather than doing all the required health screening. If the Spinone breeder is stating that the sire and dam are DNA tested, ask Breeder what they are DNA tested for. Unless the Breeder is testing for cleared C.A. (Cerebellar Ataxia). As of yet there's not much information in the Spinone genetic database to identify markers for diseases. Remember, while health screening of breeding stock cannot guarantee that your puppy will be excluded from any of these problems, the risk factor is mitigated substantially.
It is important to insist on a minimum set of standards when acquiring a Spinone puppy. A good breeder should be able to demonstrate testing of these issues by either providing a link to the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals records, CHIC records through AKC or they should be able to supply copies of the certified paperwork they received after the test screening was completed. If they do not, or are not willing to provide this information, search out a breeder that is willing to disclose this information. Your breeder should offer a minimum of 1-year written guarantee against genetic health conditions. Your breeder should be able to be there in the future for you and your puppy.
No matter what bred or breeder you decide to go with, if there are any questions I can answer or if there is anything I can do for you, please don't hesitate to contact me.
